We are a small, tight and aggressive litigation firm. We specialise in commercial / company disputes but our practice is also laced with human rights, constitutional issues and torts.

Ranjit Singh and Yeoh is a thinking firm. The landscape of our disputes is far from run of the mill.

Our senior partner, Ranjit Singh, has in excess of 25 years litigation experience and acts as lead counsel on complex matters and has been involved in ground breaking cases.

Yeoh, with almost 20 years of experience under his belt, frequently leads members of the firm and other firms in court. He is a contract, property and insurance dispute specialist.

Greg is closing in on 14 years of seasoned experience where his forte lies in company and commercial litigation ranging from pre-emptive litigation to shareholder disputes.

Royal Commission

Acted as co-counsel for the Malaysian Bar in relation to the Royal Commission set-up to investigate the video tape of a lawyer involving allegations of corruption of the judiciary.

National Feedlot Scandal

Acted as counsel for a prominent opposition leader in respect of a defamation suit instituted by a former minister embroiled in the National Feedlot Scandal.

Public Interest Litigation

Acted in numerous public interest cases including cases of wrongful arrest / detention by the police, in particular in relation to the APCET II Conference and the detention of prominent opposition leaders arising out of “Black Monday�?

Acted for non-Muslim lawyer in an unprecedented action for judicial review to be accepted as a Syariah Lawyer in Kuala Lumpur.

Acted as co-counsel for the incumbent Chief Minister in the Perak Constitutional crisis.

Acted for major infrastructure company in relation to a multi-million ringgit contractual claim against them.

Acted for prominent Malaysian businessman suing the Government of Malaysia in relation to a contractual claim in excess of RM1.3billion.

Acted for a party to successfully enforce the takeover code against a major Malaysian conglomerate.

Acted for a state investment agency in relation to attempts to enforce the takeover code against the agency.

Acted for a director in relation to a breach of fiduciary / conspiracy claim in relation to a major educational institution in Malaysia.

Acted for a party defending a claim in relation to a bid to take a public company private worth in excess of RM1.4billion.

Acted for a major infrastructure company moving to set aside a multi-million ringgit arbitration award on the grounds of fraud/corruption/non-disclosure of/by the arbitrators in question.

Ranjit is the senior litigation partner of the firm. A Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple), he was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1988. He is a general litigator with vast experience in various areas of the law. He adopts a bold and adroit approach in reaching a resolution to his client’s problems. His areas of practice include pre-emptive litigation, corporate / shareholder disputes, director misfeasance / breach of fiduciary duties, white collar crime, insurance, insolvency, defamation, banking, construction and contract disputes. Ranjit also represents and advises public listed companies, directors, accountants and other professionals on regulatory, compliance and reporting issues. He has appeared in various constitutional, administrative law and public interest litigation cases. Being a panel solicitor for the Malaysian Bar Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme, Ranjit also acts as counsel in matters involving professional negligence.

He appears regularly in the High Court of Malaya, Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Malaysia as well as in arbitration and tribunal proceedings, both on behalf of the firm and as senior counsel representing other firms of solicitors. Ranjit has appeared in a number of high profile corporate / commercial and constitutional / public interest cases.

Ranjit has had the honour of acting for the Malaysian Bar in a number of cases including the recent Royal Commission of Enquiry investigating various controversial issues involving the Malaysian Judiciary.

Ranjit has also advised on corporate transactions in relation to property development, restructuring and infrastructure projects.

Cho Kheong is a general civil litigator who regularly appears in the High Court of Malaya, Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Malaysia. In 1993, he graduated from the Australian National University with degrees in Commerce (BComm) and Law (LLB) and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1995.

Known for his exuberance and tenacity by his peers, Cho Kheong is accomplished in civil litigation and has an extensive practice in a variety of areas including contract, commercial law, torts, debt recovery, securities related litigation, banking, land acquisition, land disputes, eviction proceedings, housing development, professional practice, receivership, insolvency, insurance as well as pre-emptive litigation. He also represents clients engaged in arbitration of construction, insurance and commercial disputes and professional disciplinary proceedings.

Cho Kheong is also a panel solicitor for the Malaysian Bar Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme and has acted as counsel in a number of legal suits involving professional negligence.

Greg is a general civil litigator and completes the practice by providing his zeal, energy and years of active general litigation experience. A graduate of Law (LLB) from the University of Leicester in 1998, he proceeded to obtain his Certificate in Legal Practice in 1999 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2000. Regularly seen in the High Court of Malaya and the Appellate Courts of Malaysia, he manages his own cases and also appears as co-counsel alongside Ranjit and Cho Kheong.

Greg has gleaned his litigation experience from both small and big firms. He therefore offers his unique perspective on issues with particular reference to areas of practice from general contractual and commercial disputes to insolvency matters (in respect of both liquidation and receivership). Greg is also well acquainted with the complex strategies involved in pre-emptive litigation.
